Today, on March 21st, 2007 in Uzbekistan the spring holiday "Navruz" was officially marked. (Day of a spring equinox)

The management of Uzbekistan has magnificently noted this holiday in advance, in the evening on March 20th, on the area in Tashkent.

But to ordinary inhabitants on the central TV was велено to spend this holiday silently, modestly in house conditions, and to not leave on street. According to some employees of militia, ostensibly in Tashkent on March 21st there could be disorders to threat for a life.

On March, 21st social movement "Birdamlik" has declared carrying out of meeting on area Hadra about circus, and have called citizens of Uzbekistan to support this action.

Participants of social movement "Human Rights Alliance of Uzbekistan " have decided to take part too in this meeting with requirements on protection of the rights of invalids of Uzbekistan, which are in extremely distress because of indifference to them of authorities of the country, on what have been officially informed Hokimiyat (body of the government) cities of Tashkent.

Authorities of Uzbekistan have sent huge forces on prevention of this meeting.

2-3 days prior to planned date of carrying out of meeting police of Uzbekistan have taken under the dense control practically all-active workers of human rights and participants of political opposition of Uzbekistan.

In the morning on March 21st practically all democratic the adjusted citizens of Uzbekistan were or in police stations or houses under house arrest.

The popular activist human rights, Elena Urlaeva who tried to come on meeting, employees of the Municipal Department of Internal Affairs (a municipal government of police) Tashkent in the rough form in the early morning, offending and having applied physical strength, arrested and held till 7cl p.m. then Urlaeva she has been hospitalized in медсанчасть the Tashkent Tractor factory.  

We have information at to the area on meeting the small group of people has made the way.

Among them there was also an active worker of human rights Akramhodja Muhitdinov, one of organizers of meeting who on the area at once has been arrested.

Other participant of meeting, Bahtier Mamajonov, has arrived from Andizhan, from city in which present authorities have arranged bloody massacre on May 13th, 2005.
